Think Cafe: Love Hate With Convenient Location

This spot holds a strange place in my heart. Objectively, it’s a perfectly adequate option if you’re looking for a quick breakfast or a casual lunch, offering a basic menu that generally gets the job done. It’s where I normally go on Fridays with my cousin to have some eggs and ham.

It’s Flexible

The seating arrangement is wonderfully flexible, allowing patrons to settle in wherever they feel comfortable. I personally tend to gravitate toward the bar area for a quick in-and-out experience. The physical space and the food itself aren't the primary problems; it’s the atmosphere created by the weekend crew that makes every visit questionable. On Fridays, things are great, but making the mistake of going on a Saturday or Sunday can turn sour very quickly.

The Bad Service

The prevailing attitude of the staff is consistently disappointing, bordering on hostile. It’s a noticeable and off-putting lack of enthusiasm, even during simple interactions. Trying to clarify anything about your own order, even a basic question about the dish in front of you, is inexplicably met with an eye-roll or obvious annoyance. This defensive posture extends to beverages as well. On one occasion, noticing something undesirable or "weird" in a drink led my husband to politely cancel it, only to be hit with a palpable wave of passive-aggressive attitude from the server, which then spilled into when he tried to place his food order.

Given the frequency and intensity of these poor interactions, the cumulative experience transforms what should be an easy meal into a genuinely crappy one. I often leave wondering why I continue to subject myself to such poor service, and frankly, I'm finding it harder and harder to justify giving them my business when basic politeness is this consistently absent from the crew.

Perhaps they don’t like certain folk coming ‘round here? The attitude is always be directed toward my black husband and they’re always Hispanic.
