Nazelie’s Lebanese Cafe in San Pedro, CA is very interesting because how do you explain to a newcomer that the business owner doesn’t hate you, he just has his own style of managing his business? It’s a super serious encounter, you almost feel like you’re in trouble with a parent.
It’s located next to a church, a hair salon, and a liquor store. Sundays can be hard to find parking during church hours, so be aware.
I love the falafel wrap. In fact, no other Mediterranean restaurant that I’ve been to in California comes close. The only other place that has a great falafel wrap is in Las Vegas, NV and it’s called Parsley’s Modern Mediterranean (S. Fort Apache & W. Flamingo) but that can be its own review someday.
Nazelie’s falafel wrap is called a sandwich, so get that right when you order. If you’re picking up, just know that you order and pay on one side, and pick up on the adjacent counter, even though they can just hand it to you where you just paid.

You might be asking yourself, why do we need pictures of the counter? Trust me, it’s actually funny when you pay on the left and he makes you go to the right to take your food.
Don’t be discouraged if you feel the customer service is cold. If you visit a few times, he actually remembers you and your order. His wife is a sweetheart and she’s in the back cooking. I have read that some people really dislike this place, but this is only my experience. I encourage you to visit and try different foods and come to your own conclusion. One of my favorite combinations is to order the falafel sandwich and head to McDonald’s for fries. Try not to judge me. I’ve tried other chicken and beef plates previously but it’s been a long time and the falafel really hits the spot very quickly and easily.
Will I be returning to Nazelie’s Lebanese Cafe? Heck yea.
